Ms. Blore divides her time between her two studios, one in New Hampshire, USA, and the other in the Highlands of Scotland. After years of chasing light around the world, Debra has currently settled on these two settings for their combination of their light, their spirit, their scenery and their soul. Art has been central to every chapter of her life, and now Debra is able to fully envelop herself in capturing art of both the Highlands of New Hampshire and Scotland.

"Advice to My Younger Self" oil on canvas, 36x24"
Who hasn't fantasized about wishing we'd known then what we know now? Is this young girl heeding the advice of her older selves as they walk through their fantasy garden?
Yes, this garden is inspired by Rousseau. When I was a young mother I put posters of his art in my children's rooms, thinking them more inspiring than ordinary nursery art. I would fall asleep rocking them and have dreamed in Rousseau ever since. This is a glimpse into my dream world, where the birds catch all of the insects, the sky is all sherbet colors from sunrise to sunset, the fruit and flowers are the size of Volkswagens and all advice is good.
This work of art was the featured piece in the art collection of the Congressional Office for Congressman Paul Hodes, NH02.
